Pink Cat Knits

Yet again Blogger has played games with the order of my photos and will not play nice. So this is going to be a little jumbled.

Now before you moan at the sight of another yarn filled post I assure you that I have been knitting. It just so happened that I was near two yarn shops on Thursday and who am I not to take advantage of that.

The three balls of Debbie bliss Donegal tweed were purchased from Sue's Cherryhills and the three balls of Jo Sharp Tweed were bought from Hornsby wool & craft nook. And at this stage I have no idea what I'll be knitting but I just love the colours.

Now on to the knitting front. I started this last night and can not believe how fast it's knitting up, it's the Owls pattern by Kate Davies, I have wanted to knit this for ages I just hope I have enough yarn.

This is the muffin of choice in our house at the moment, it's a vegan banana & choc chip muffin. I have been making at least a batch of week which is a bit extreme considering the price of bananas at the moment.

Jumping to one subject to another this is the project that Mike & I worked on over the Easter break, and yes I did more than just hand Mike drinks. We are only half way through and I never thought it would take so long. The decking is 20m x 2m and although the wood we bought was meant to be A grade not all the lengths of wood were perfect.

Apart from helping with the deck I did get a little kniting time in. I have almost finished the Ruby Cowl and although I will love wearing it I can not wait to get it of. the needles. It is just so repetitive but has made good tv knitting.

Well tomorrow it's back to work after having ten days off so I am going to try and get some knitting in this afternoon. I hope everyone has a great week.

Not a great deal of anything has been done in the last week due to me being sick. I have spent most of the last week in bed or laying on the lounge watching Midsomer murders. However on Wednesday when I returned from the Dr's I had a little parcel waiting for me. The spring issue of IK and two skeins of cascade 220 Heathers in greystone heather. Which I have already casted on for the Eternity scarf.

Then on Friday I treated myself to a trip to Hornsby wool & craft nook and picked up three balls of Rowans felted tweed in Storm Blue. I haven't yet decided what to knit with it I am leaning towards Super Cupcake or EDI cowl.

And this is just so cute I had to share. My friend C went to NZ last week and this was just one of the very cute gifts she bought me back "Cutest of Cupcakes" I just love it!

DIY

Since moving into our house just over four months ago we have done so much to the garden and I have realised I haven't shared any of it. So I though I would post a couple of before and after photos.

The above two photos are of the decking that runs all the way along the front of the house. Mike did the gardens himself but as we went along we realised the wall looked very bare and we wanted to break it up a bit.

So we ran merbau timber along three front sections and one section from the front wall to a pillar if that makes sense. I'm pretty impressed with the job we have done so far. We have also done the same thing under the pool decking just to hide all the rocks and dirt but with all the rain we have had this weekend we haven't had a chance to finish painting it yet. Fingers crossed for next weekend.

On to non DIY news, I am still working on my HP scarf and have finished The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas. It is great story through the eyes of eight people that witness "the slap". Christos is an Australian writer and the story is set in Melbourne in the Greek community. I did read online that the book is going to be made into a mini series. If this is true it will be well worth watching.

Oh my!

I cannot believe it has been just over a month since I last posted. And sadly this isn't going to be a long one.

Mike and I have been so busy every weekend in the garden that my knitting has definitely suffered. Having said that I have picked up my Harry Potter scarf again and as you can see it was a case of "when knitting attacks" I believe I was watching midsomer murders when I lost my concentration. And after ripping back around ten rows I am back on track.

When to comes to my to do list we have been planning number three and six. Getting married and going to the states. We should be flying over in early June and I cannot wait. I should have more details next week.

List update

This is my update so far.

1. Finish at least one garment a month. So far I am on track finishing two projects in January.
5. Take a photo every day. I have been very close but did forget a couple of times.
8. Bake or cook one new dish a fortnight. Completed for January.
9. Start a garden. Started and currently shopping around for a greenhouse.
11. Bake at least once a week. This one has been fun and easy to complete.
12. Lose ten kilos. So far I have lost three.
31. Give blood Completed and planning on doing this again in another twelve weeks.
13. Walk at least five times a week. Apart from this last week (due to the heat) I have completed this every week.

Although I haven't completed all my daily/weekly goals I am still very happy with what I have achieved. And I really enjoying progressing down the list.

A bit of nothing

Well it's a day late but it's here. A very short post...

I wanted to share a couple of photos I've taken in the last couple of days. The first is of Harry in a very cute position. I love that his smart enough to find something comfortable (himself) on hard slate tiles.

And the second is of my first tomato plant that has sprouted. Since this photo was taken I have had five more tomato seeds and one eggplant seed sprout. I have never had much of a green thumb but I have to say I'm really enjoying this gardening thing.

I always amaze myself at how much I can fit into one day. Today I worked in the garden like a demon, cleaned the house, baked and managed to start a new project after finishing The slouch last night.

And it feels great to finally get my garden started. I planted seeds for capsicums,eggplants and tomatoes I also replanted my herbs into bigger pots.

I am very excited about the seeds and really look forward to watching them grow. We just have to figure out where to replant them when they get a little bigger. I am trying to convince Mike to build a little garden at the side of the house. Fingers crossed.

These muffins seem to be a family favourite, I'm not a huge peanut butter fan but when mixed with chocolate it is the perfect combo.

And a quick update on my list. I am donating blood tomorrow for the first time so I'm excited to tick that off the list and to be doing a good deed. Wish me luck!

What a week!

Where do I start???

You would have to be living under a rock not to know about the floods in Queensland so I am not going to go there. So I will talk about my week.

After two and a half weeks of holidays I went back to work, same company different position. I have to tell you I was very excited, The role was something very different to what I have been doing so I was informed that I would get several weeks of training. However this does not seem to be the case. The first day which was very hectic contained almost no training at all. On the second day I received around one hour and Wednesday was a total flop receiving no training at all and to top it off my new boss has a teeny issue hiding his emotions. Now I understand everyone has bad days but your mood doesn't generally change hour by hour.

On Thursday morning I sat down and informed him that it wasn't go to work out. I received a confused puppy dog look and after about twenty minutes he told me I was making a big mistake and I should just stick it out. After talking to his boss which I must add totally understood where I was coming from ie: the mood swings. He has agreed to find someone to replace me so I can with any luck go back to my old position.

Considering all the bullshit at work I did manage to get some things on my list done. I managed to take a photo almost everyday. I also baked once and walked five times within the week. I did however fail to do my eight hundred sit ups which I am trying very hard to do so I think I deserve a little credit for the four hundred and fifty that I managed.

And on the knitting front I finished my mobius scarf and I started the slouch from the mother and daughter knitting book using a Bendigo Rustic yarn in a 12ply.

As soon as I get some decent light I will take photos of the scarf and post them. Until then Happy Knitting!

A fresh start!

Okay so a new year is here and I want to make some changes. I didn't want to make a list of resolutions that I didn't stick to. I wanted goals for the whole year. So here is my list of sixty things I want to achieve. Yes I know it's suppose to be 101 but I could only think of sixty. Having said that I think this list will keep me very busy.

This list is not in order of importance.
1.Finish at least one project a month.
2.Take a sewing class.
3.Get Married!!!
4.Blog at least once a week.
5.Take a photo a day.
6.Holiday in the USA.
7.Sew at least five garments.
8.Bake or cook one new dish a fortnight(this doesn't count when I am doing #6).

22.Go on a bush walk.
23.Make more home loan payments than required.

27.Donate all the stuff I no longer use or want.
28.Watch at least five films at the cinemas.

Love a bargain!

Again Blogger is playing games with me so the knitting is at the end of the post.

Today Mike and I picked up a Design Warehouse leopard print ottoman we won on eBay. I am so in love with this thing it's crazy. It's a couple of years old but the owners have been in the states and are now moving back so it's in as new condition. And it is just so lush I can not wait for us to move into our own place to use it. And we got it super cheap which always get's me excited.

Anyhow we went to the city via Balmain (stopped off for lunch =]) and as we we're driving over the Anzac bridge when I realised I have never taken a photo of it. So here you go, not very exciting for you sydney siders.

And when I got home I made my Mum's recipe for chow mein using veggie mince and it was perfect. It tastes just like the real thing without the taste of meat.Yay!

I love having comfort food from my childhood.

And now to the knitting, I started this who knows when so long ago I can't remember. It's the weekend cushion cover from Jo Sharp's Home book four. And it's going to be huge, It's 50cm's x 50cm's and it will look perfect on my purple love seat. Now just to start the other side. Sigh.

Now if I could just get out of my little knitting rut that I have fallen into every thing would be dandy. I hope everyone enjoy's the rest of the weekend.

Okay before I start I have to apologise for my photo's being out of order. Blogger is playing games with me and will not let me move them around which is driving me crazy anywho here we go.

If you have been here before you will know that I joined a sock yarn club and this is the second installment which is just delightful. You will see the picture of the third installment at the bottom of the page. Ggggrrrrrr blogger!

I really love the treat's you get with each installment. And I have joined the winter club so lot's more yummy sock yarn coming my way.

And YAY to me for knitting something. This is seed stitch wool-soy hat by Marci Blank from Luxury yarn one skein wonders. I used 100% merino wool that I dyed myself and I just love the way it came out. I am currently trying to finish my Harry Potter scarf for the world cup and it just seems to be never ending.

And of course the third installment.I really am loving this colour.

And now I am going to have another coke and try and stay awake for the Socceroo's game.

Not much of anything...

Well that's not completely true I just haven't downloaded photos in weeks so I really don't have anything to show just yet but it will find it's way here with any luck. And for the last week I have been sick in bed with a cold so other than watching chick flicks all day nothing else has been happening but I thought I should pop in to say hi considering I missed out on a whole month.

So much going on

Okay so the last time I was here I was participating in the Ravelrympics and at the time I was very excited to be knitting the Sage Remedy top and although I still totally love it I fell off the wagon =( and I haven't been able to get back on.

Now Blogger is being a huge pain in the arse and will not let me move my pic's around so nothing is in order. So the first pic is of my new project I started on the train on Thursday. The pattern is called Simple Things by Mary-Heather Cogar although I am calling it my Easter Shawl for obvious reasons. I am using the Araucania Ranco multy I bought from Morris & sons on Sunday and I am loving it.

And this was very exciting to come home to last week my very first sock club. It is the Lush yarn Autumn sock and so far I love it!

And last but not least I finally got my hair done at Kippo again it took all of eight hours but it was well worth it.

I am very sorry about the quality of the pic's I take the worst photo's of myself I just don't know if they could get any worse.

Anywho I am off to work on my easter shawl and listen to Lime & Violet so I hope everyone has a great Easter and long weekend.

However I think I may have lost my camera. I know I'm scared too. I have looked just about everywhere and there is no sign of it.

My little slump continues. I am still having trouble getting into another project. I did start Mum's scarf however I am only 45cms into it and very bored. So bored with that I picked up a cross stitch project only for it to last two nights. I am hanging out for the Ravelympics to start. I ordered my yarn only to be told two days later that it wasn't in stock grrrr.

So I have ordered it else where and my fingers are now crossed that it gets here in time.I hope everyone else is having a better week than me.

I feel like I'm in a bit of a knitting slump. I have started another feather & fan scarf for Mum and I just can not get any where with it. I think because it is my third time at knitting the same scarf I'm just feeling a little bored.

I love my new scarf, It's a little longer than I planned but I know it's going to keep me toasty warm.

This is Mum's scarf. I'm using Bendigo Luxury 8ply in blue denim. I so want to pick something else up but on the other hand I want to finish it before the ravelrympics start.

Parramatta Park Australia Day. I was quite excited to hear their would be a square hot air balloon and then I saw that it was just a giant tampon box :0

.Fresh strawberries with cream and chocolate mousse. Although you can buy these yummy chocolate from Dolci Dolci I would recommend you go to the source. Christophe ses chocolats in Five Dock. Sadly he doesn't have a website. They have a huge range and you will not be disappointed.

My little helper

It has been such a long time since I have had my sewing machine out and as soon has I took the cover off Aria was all over it. She sniffed it she walked on it and she also pawed at it. And then she let me play with it.

I made these very pretty pillow slips. It is fabric that I have had in my stash for well over a year.

I would really like to make some new project bags but I'm just not sure what style yet.

Anywho off to watch the tennis now. I hope everyone has a great Australia Day. We are planning to watch the hot air ballons in Parramatta Park and then maybe in to the city for the afternoon.

Belated Christmas post

I am aware it is almost a month since Christmas. But I still wanted to share with everyone.

This is just some of the goodies from Mike. And when I say from Mike I mean I bought them with his credit card and gave them to him to wrap for me lol. I am loving vegan comfort food and baby cakes yummo.

This is Aria unwrapping her new bed. I still haven't taken a photo of her sleeping in it yet. I think she had more fun pushing it around and getting under it than sitting in it.

On Boxing day Mike and I went up to the Gold Coast for five nights and this is our view from our lovely hotel room at the Sheridan Mirage. Seriously good breakfast.We ate our self's sick every morning.

Sadly the weather wasn't the best and for three of our five day stay it was overcast and raining. However we did manage to go to Seaworld to see the polar bear (again) which was a highlight for me. I took about fifty photo's just of her moving around the enclosure.

Sadly I am now back at work but dreaming of a possible mid year break.I hope everyone has a great long weekend. I'm not back at work until Wednesday =)

Under Construction

What's a little cheating among friends

OK so I know it's only Monday however I am giving you project 365 photos Sunday through to Wednesday.

This is Sunday. Beautiful recycled glass

And these three photo's were taken on Saturday at Church Point. It was such a beautiful day and the water looked amazing I just could not let them go to waste.

And it is now only 25 days until Ravelympics and I still am not sure what my project sure be. I am thinking my harry potter scarf as a WIP. But I was hoping to start something new. Mum has put an order in for a scarf so I may have to look at some patterns and pick some yarn in the next week or two.

Lake House scarf

Well as promised photos of my scarf I have called it Lake House Scarf. It currently measures 100cm's and I am just over half way through my 200gm ball of yarn.I haven't decided how long to knit it yet I am thinking about 150cm's.

I am loving the colour and the feel. It's the first I have knitted with Bendigo's Luxury yarn and am already planning what I can knit with the other ball I bought.

And some pretty stitch markers. I bought these from Chaton, it's the second time I have bought Kylie's handmade goodies and they are just beautiful.

Harry's day out

Mike & I decided to take Harry on an outing today, So we took him down to Bayview and Chuchpoint. They have two great dog parks where you can let your dogs run free and it was such a beautiful day. Harry had so much fun playing in the water. At first he was a little hesitant to go in but it didn't take him long until he kept going back in for more.

We kept him on his lead only because he his not the most sociable dog when it comes to other dogs. He is fantastic with people and cats but it just takes him a little bit of time to warm to other dogs.

And my lunch, a new Turkish take way shop has opened in Newport and my veggie pide was delicious. This photo is also doubling as my project 365 for today.

Second week in

Well I survived my first week back at work and the heat. And this week was the second week of the Project 365 and I didn't miss a beat.

Currently reading You gotta have balls by Lily Brett my all time favourite author. The Good Reading Magazine have said ''Reading Lily Brett is like spending time with a uniquely clever, loving and sympathetic friend – who is also an enormously gifted writer'' and they couldn't be closer to the truth.

This was taken on Tuesday when it hit 43 degrees and has you can see Oscar was feeling it.

You can never have enough Oscar.

I down loaded this from a work computer so I'm not sure way it's a different size. However this was this morning's breakfast.

And how can you go past Vanilla fudge Tofutti =)

On the knitting front I am about half way on my touch of lace scarf. I did have to rip out about 30 rows when I realised I had some how reversed the pattern. I will post a photo on the weekend sometime until then I hope you have a nice relaxing Friday night.

Project 365

Today marks my blog's 4th Birthday. And I not going to go into what I have and haven't done. It is a new year and I am not looking back I have set myself goals that I plan to reach.

And with that I give you Gloria. My first finished project for the year. I used Sirdar Hug in Mellow and I'm quite happy with how it turned out I thought it might feel a little scratchy against the skin but it's quite soft. I would really like this yarn in a jumper or cardigan.

And considering it's a birthday of sorts I think I will treat myself with a slice of cake.I hope everyone has a great weekend. Happy Knitting!

I'll start with the good then I'll get to the bad.

This is the Continental cowl and I finished it back in September. I used two balls of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in lilac. It's so lovely and soft.

This is Mike's Regular guy beanie I made him for Christmas. I used Jo Sharp's Classic DK Wool in Heath and I'm surprised it's so scratchy. Although I am very happy how it turned out.

And this is Gloria I started her yesterday. I am using Sirdar Hug in Mellow and although it's not super soft I could definitely use this for a cardie or jumper.

And now before anyone pulls me up on adding to my stash this was ordered well before Christmas it just happened to arrive today. I didn't realise they closed so early in the month.

The colours are so yummy. We have two balls of 8ply Luxury one in Lake and the other in Blue Denim. I'm not sure which one I like more and one ball of 8ply cotton in Cerise and one ball of Alpaca Rich in Black.

Well that's all for now I'm heading back to the lounge to watch another Midsomer Murder.

A new year

I have set a few goals for myself for 2010. Fingers crossed that I can stick to them. Feel free to tell me when I am slacking off.

1. The first one is pretty big and it's to buy a house. Our plan is that mid year we will move back into our own place.It's hard at times to stay focused on saving especially when I love spending soooo much.But I know it will be well worth it so here's to knitting from the stash ;)

2.Try and go to church more often. It has been a couple of months since I have dragged myself out of bed early on a Saturday morning. And I love the feeling I get when I do go . So again here's to no sleeping in on Saturday mornings =(

3.Healthy eating & exercise. This one is so boring at times but I do not want to put on any more weight so I have to work really hard at this one.

4.Staying focused on current knitting projects. Having said that I will allow myself to start something new as long the yarn is already in my stash or it's for someone or of course the Ravelrympics.

5.Take a photo a day. I have joined Project 365 on Flickr. It's as simple as it sounds a photo a day. I really would like to stick with one.

6. And lastly blog about it

A little shopping

I am now feeling better so I thought I would upload pic's of some recent purchases.

I bought some 3ply from Bendigo Woollen Mills hoping Icould use it for my Barn rasing quilt but I think it's going to be to thin. So now I have 200gms of yarn and I have no idea what to make with it.

I also bought a hank of sock yarn from One Fat Slug and this can be used for my quilt. I love the colour.

I bought one ball of Jo Sharp Classic Dk wool in Heath and I have already knitted this up as a beanie for Mike. I will try and remember to take a photo tomorrow. And this cutest little caddy from Namste. I love the colour it matches my knitting bag.

And just before Christmas I treated myself at Cherryhills, I bought two balls each of the Sublime and hug and just one ball of the Pear tree yarn (super yummy) and a ball of sock yarn that had no label.

I realise it has been a very long time since I posted however you see me on Facebook, Ravelry or Twitter so ya'll know that I'm ok.

Mike and I had a great Christmas & New Year we spent a week in cloudy Queensland. Sadly we only had a couple of sunny days but it was enough to turn me into a tomato.

I have lots of photos from the last couple of months that I will upload as soon as I am feeling better.Unfortunately I am spending my last week of holidays with a head cold.

This morning Sydney woke to this.

A dust storm created from winds in the far west of N.S.W. At first I thought it looked amazing until my throat & eyes started to get sore then I just found it frustrating.

And proof that I have actually been knitting. The first six squares for the barn-raising quilt.Which completes the first column. And because I was so proud of myself with sticking to something I have rewared myself with a new project. It's only small and I should finish it by the weekend. I started another Kitty Pi using Lornas Lace Bullfrogs & Butterflies in Knit Happens.

And it wouldn't be a post from me without some shopping. I bought these two adorable project bags from Etsy.They are perfect for a small to medium project.

Nobody should be surprised that the last time I posted was June considering my blog is called the lazy knitter.

However in between shopping, playing on facebook and entertaining overseas guests I have done a little knitting.I indulged in a little yarn shopping at Hornsby wool & craft nook a couple of weeks ago and I have to say it is so hard to walk out of that place with a small purchase, they have such a great range of yarn now.

I bought 2 hanks of Mirasol Yarn Hacho for the barn-raising quilt and 2 balls of sublime extra fine merino in red currant it is so lush.I also dropped into borders to buy the latest Interweave Knits only to see it in my local newsagent two days later and $3 cheaper. Why am I so impatient.

I bought this lovely sock yarn from Lush yarns, again for the quilt.

And we had a little beading day for Aunt Rosie so she couldn't take back some handmade gifts to her friends in Germany.

Now back to my knitting. I am about to finish my sixth square for the quilt =)

I think I have a commitment issue

Well I have finished my scrappy scarf and I am very happy with it, I haven't yet decided whether to put a fringe on it or not. And this is the only photo I have taken of it so far so you will all have to wait till I get my act together.

I'm now having trouble picking a new project. I say new but you all now how many projects I have on the needles. I have been jumping from one to another. I have worked on four different projects in three days, doing ten rows on one project and six on another. And it's now starting to bug me.

And because I ordered three books from Amazon last week I don't want to spend any more money.Maybe if I start a small project using the yarn I already have I will feel like I am working on something new and get out of my little rut.Anywho wish me luck and I hope everyone has a great week.

Brrrrrr... it's cold outside

My body has picked a good time to be sick with the current temp at 10 degrees. It's a little chilly outside and set to get worse over the next couple of days. They predict a low of 0 degrees for the next two days , So I cannot think of a better place to be other than bed.

And in between coughing & moaning I have managed to get some knitting down.

Hear are just some of the blues that I 'm using for the scrappy scarf.

I'm happy how it's looking so far, It has about 30% until it's finished. And I have also picked up my log cabin blanket again, it makes a nice little knee rug while on the lounge.

I finished these two cowls a little while ago I just haven't got around to posting them. For both patterns I used Louisa Harding Grace Silk & Wool which I bought at Cherryhills (on sale) it is so soft to touch and it feels lovely on my neck.

I love the idea of the Cowl your neck stays warm without having a scarf on. And they double as a head warmer quite nicely.

In other knitting news I started The Scrappy Lengthwise Scarf Rav Link which I'm half way through. I'm knitting it in blues and greens and I think I will have enough yarn for two.

Bag's & Yarn

If you can believe that in between working & wasting my time playing Farmtown on FB I have actually got some knitting done.

I have knitted a beanie for Mike (no pic yet) two squares for my Barn-Raising Quilt and I have started a pair of socks using my yummy Harry Potter yarn.

I have also ben doing some shopping. Check out my cute little project bag, I love the fabric inside.

And I love this project bag, the fabric has been hand printed.So very cute.

I have also bought some yarn. This Alpaca yarn is from Ridgy Didge Handspun Yarn's

And 2 hanks of Koigu & 2 hanks of Manos del Uruguay, the Koigu is for the quilt and the hanks of Manos del Uruguay are for beanies. The black has already been turned into a beanie for Mike.And the pewter is for me.

Where have I been?

Between facebook (please don't make fun I have an illness) baking and being sick,I haven't been around. I feel like I'm in a knitting lull I have done a little cross stitch but for the last 2 1/2 weeks I haven't done any knitting. I hope this passes soon.

Oh what a night

OK I know it's only the NAB Cup but it's always great to see your Team win by 53 POINTS YAY!!! Last night's win means we are into the semi finals, so we will play either Hawthorn or Melbourne.

OK on to knitting or the lack of. I haven't done that much in the last couple of weeks, I get home and I just want to flop on the lounge. I did however buy some more yarn :)

I went to Cherryhill's at Pennant Hills last Thursday (they had a sale ) it was my first time and I have to say that it is just the sweetest little yarn shop. I will be a regular.

I bought 2 x Sublime in baby pink

3 x Freedom Spirit in purple

2 x Zarina in denim

2 x Louisa Harding ( Kimono Angora) in dark pink

4 x Loise Harding (silk & wool) 2 in purple and 2 in red

I now going to bake some muffins and get fat on the lounge.

Heart Break

I have held off about posting on the Victorian Bush fires because I just don't know what to say. I am in shock.I am totally heartbroken for everyone that has been affected by this.

When I went to bed on Saturday night 14 had died I was shocked. When I woke up it was 25. At that stage I couldn't imagine it could get any worse. The toll currently stands at 131.

It makes us all realise how precious life is.

Not that much has happened this week, I have hardly done any knitting all week. If fact this really isn't blog worthy at all. It's just to let you know that I haven't drowned in a puddle of my own sweat. Now wouldn't that be something to see.

With tomorrow's temperature predicted to be around 47c I think I will stay indoors all day.

I hope everyone takes care and drinks lot's of water.

Saturday Knitting

Yesterday I started Socks 101 and everything was going very well, I like the pattern I love the yarn-Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted in Frost Pink. Then before I washed it I tried it on. Perfect!

Then I tried it on when it was dry. TOO BIG!

I'm sooo upset :-(

So this morning I trotted down to spotlight (doesn't deserve a capital S) to buy some elastic and suede patches. Who would have know they had a sale on. UGH!

I came out with my elastic but no patches.

My thought is I could sew in some elastic into the cuff and sew the patches on the bottoms and make me some slippers.

Anywho I putting them aside until next weekend and I am going back to my blankie, with my thumb in my mouth :(

I fell off my knitting from my stash/shelf wagon. It's ok I'm not badly hurt it's just a small scratch;)

I checked out Bendigo Woolen Mills and I have to tell you that I am in LOVE!!!

I placed my (very small) order on Tuesday and it was waiting for me when I got home yesterday. I truly love mail.

I purchased 1 ball x Rustic 8ply in Graphite. For Mike, I'm thinking a beanie. And 1 x ball Rustic 8ply in Wineberry.

I took this photo on a window ledge just to show up the colour better. I really like the 200gm size ball.

And a little knitting (not alot) has been done. I have knitted about 10 rows of the pinwheel blanket and I have started the Shifting sands scraf using Berroco Ultra Alpaca in Dijion.

That's it for now I am going to spend the rest of the day on the lounge with the a/c on.

I went totally nuts when I saw the cows, you will have to excuse the quality of some of the photo's. I had my camera in one hand a phone in the other (I was telling Mum about the cows) and I was running. I was totally exhausted by the end of it.

We are back!

We are back! And we had a great trip down and back and I already miss Victoria :(

We first drove to Stawell , and picked up some things from a family friend (very long detour but well worth it) and then we went on to Melbourne (I don't think anyone needs a link for that)
Mike had never been to Stawell before so it was a lot of fun showing him around. My family comes from the region, unfortunately there is no one left down there now.

This was my Nana's house, my family have a lot of good memories of this house.

The next three photo's we're really just for Mum to show her how dry it is in the country.

As we drove in to Melbourne, we noticed smoke coming from the other side of the city, it turned out to be a truck on fire at the start of the burnley tunnel, Not really blog worthy but it was exciting at the time.I never really see news happen, maybe I'm just easily entertained.

And going by the next two photo's I would say yes I am easily amused/entertained.

Just a very large ship.

I would like to think everyone would enjoy this. As we we're driving thru Shepparton I noticed about thrity painted cows in a park and started squelling. Mike pulled over and had something to eat while I ran around (like a loony) taking photo's. The strawberries and cream cow is by far my favourite. I have a lot more photo's of them that I will post later in the week.

And when it came to my knitting I didn't really get that much done as you can see in the pic, I spent most of time just looking out the window enjoying the country side. Please excuse my nails I was feeling a little adventurous.

What a week

I was on such a high at the beginning of the week, Mike bought me newish wheels and tyres for my car on ebay (aahhh ebay) the one catch is that they are in Melbourne.

Mike said no problem we will go on a road trip this weekend (Australia day long weekend) YAY ROAD TRIP. It has been such a long time since we have been on a road trip.

I have been soooo excited all week and then this happened, you may wonder how this affects me.

Mike's business is just of the companies that supply stock to ADRT. The thing I am having trouble getting my head around is "how do people do this to each other" when we send an order out it is sent out in good faith that the customer will pay for it. I guess I am just a little naive

Like Mike I am trying to put this aside and move on.

All the crappyness aside I have done a little bit of knitting not much, I am going to try and save my pinwheel blanket for the road trip. I am really loving the colour combo.I am going to be quite sad when I finish this , I know it should be the other way around but I am really enjoying knitting this blanket.

I took these photo's a couple of weeks ago but never got around to posting them.

Aria was awake when I took this photo she just refused to open her eyes, she isn't normally that shy, stubborn yes shy no.

And Oscar was sound asleep when this was taken. How cute is that little face :)

I bought these just before Christmas, and I am loving them. Knitalong & Luxury Yarns are my favourites. And I can honestly say say I would like to knit everything in Luxury Yarns, and I have never said that about a book before. Normally I buy a book and there are three or four patterns that I would like it knit but I love everything in this book.

And considering how much I have spent in the last month these books will be the last for a long while.

This year I am going to work on knitting from the stash and the shelf. And here is my first FO for 2009. My second wash cloth.

Christmas pic's part 2 (sorry for the lame start) but I have to start some where and there are a lot of pics to post.

Mike bought me two Rowan magazines which I haven't had a huge amount of time to look through yet. I have been to busy feeling and looking at this....

I bought a heap of Lily's Sugar 'n Cream cotton from American Yarns, I didn't take a group pic of them and I am sure no one wants to see individual pics, so you just get this one for now and a after pic of my first wash cloth.

I also bought six balls of Cascade 220 Superwash 2 x White, 2 x Lime Sherbet and 2 x Strawberry. It is going to be a Pinwheel Blanket which I started last night. And yes I know this is a baby blanket, and no I do not have a baby nor am I planning to have a baby anytime soon. Thought I should just get that out there.

I also bought 2 balls of Berroco Ultra Alpaca, I have no idea what I am going to do with it I just like the colour.

And to finish of the first post of the year Nothing having a nap before bedtime, again sorry about the bad lighting. Everynight I come in to see him with his head on my pillow.

I know my Christmas wishes are a little bit late but I have only just had time to download my pic's.

My Christmas was full of yarny goodness. I received 1 hank of Malabrigo sock in black (Mike's idea of a hint)

Lorna's Lace's in Country Christmas, so very yummy :)

And finally my very own Harry and Dumbledore sock yarn. YAY!

I was also given a hot pink Namaste bag (haven't taken a pic yet) and three Rowan books.

And finally a FO. In the end I decided to give the scarf to Jenny (mil) as a Christmas present. It is just the perfect colour for her.

Sorry about the dodgy pic's, I took them at night in really bad light. I really enjoyed working on this scarf, it was simple and very elegant.

I am now off to work so I hope everyone has a nice relaxing Sunday.

I got home on Friday to find a parcel from loopy ewe on my doorstep. YAY!

It seems like such a long time since I have had mail, it seems like such a treat. I bought 3 hanks of Louet gem in soft coral & 3 hanks of Malabrigo lace in blue surf. And a super cute project bag.

Look how yummy the Louet is, I am just loving the soft coral.

I also bought a very cute sock blocker keyring.

I dragged Mum to Hornsby Wool & Craft a couple of weeks ago, and I bought Rowan number 43, alot of times I can look rowan magazines and amazing as the clothes and photo's are I think to myself that I would never wear this stuff, but #43 is very different. It is filled with amazing wearable clothes.

Can you feel my excitement :)

On the knitting front I finished my lace scarf, I haven't blocked it yet, as soon as I do I will have pics.

Well after a week off it is back to work tomorrow, I had forgotten how much it takes out of you. Anywho in between sleeping and moaning I got some knitting down.

I worked on my third block of my blanket

I started a vest ( really dodgy pic)

and I bought this pattern sooo long ago I can not remember when anywho I started this today while watching the Gilmore Girls, I am using Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran.

I am just loving the colour :)

The last two weeks have been totally horrible (sorry to sound like a whiny child) my bottom right wisdom tooth has been growing. Normally it only lasts about three days and then it stops, but no it had to keep going. So I went to my dentist and he told me that it had to come out and while he was at it he would take the top right out :( sobs.

Looking at the bright side I do get a week off from work.

On the knitting front I had a little disaster. The cropped cardi I have been working on came to a grinding holt on Saturday night when I realised that there was a error in the pattern. Paying no attention to it and just knitting I thought I should count my stitches to see how far I had to go when I looked and realised this....

yes the yarn over is in the wrong place it should have been after the marker not before like the pattern indicated. How could I possibly be soooo stupid.

So this is what I did. More sobs:(

I have put it aside for now, I will however come back to it I love this colour to much not to finish it.

Time flys

I cannot believe August was the time I posted, so much has happened in that time.

We moved at the end of August (in with my Mum) we ran out of time to look for a place and we could not decide on a area, Mike wanted Kurrajong which I love, I just don't want to drive 45min's to work, and I wanted to go back to the suburbs. So we both thought we could lease a place in Kurrajong to see if we could do the compute everyday. I feel sorry for anyone in the rental market. After weeks of looking we realised it wasn't that easy. We looked for houses in other areas, but it is just amazing how little you get for your money.

So Mum offered for us to move in with her, I think she was very happy that we said yes. Although we now have 2 dogs (outside) & 5 cats (inside) it's a little full on sometimes.

I also started a new job about 5 weeks ago, all is good I just needed a change after 12 years.

Here a couple of more things that I bought with my b'day money. I have used the Freedom Spirit on My Ravelympics Tank Top, which I haven't worked on since the Olympics finished. Remember I have been very busy :)

I also started working on my Ravelympics Cropped Sweater, I am using the Malabrigo in Watercolour which I am just loving.

until last night when I looked down...

both Mum & Mike said didn't you realise you had dropped a stitch? Are you kidding me who in there right mind would keep knitting. I was so annoyed at my self I just put it in the basket and went to bed :(

Anywho to finish my first post in months on a good note, here is one of the last pic's I took of the cats at our old house. It was a very cold day and they we're all sharing the same lounge chair in front of the heater.

They are sooo cute :)

I'm Still Here

Hi All, I'm still here things have just been insane over the last month. I celebrated my b'day (YAY) and we SOLD OUR HOUSE (BIGGER YAY) but no time for details just yet I just wanted to show everyone a couple of things I bought with my b'day money.

I have lots more pic's but no time, our home computer crashed about 3 weeks ago so I am blogging from work (a big no no)

I leave you with Aria and the love of her life Oscar, they spend all most every minute of the day together. Aria has never had so much fun.

After a week of feeling like total crap I'm actually starting to feel better (thank goodness) there is only so much daytime tv I can take.

And with rotten weather outside and feeling good enough to get up and do something I put one of my new cookbooks to the test.

I have been wanting both of these books for a while now, and the wait has been worth it. There are so many fantastic recipes in these books. I made the Lemony Roasted Potatoes from Veganomicon . And if I get time after work tomorrow I will make the Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins from Vegan Baking.

This dish was a huge hit with Mike.

We also has salad and Curried "sausages" Mike isn't a big fan of soy sausages. He would much rather real ones :(

I cannot believe it has been over 2 months, time really does fly when your taking care of a litter of kittens ( there not Aria's)

About 6 weeks ago I was driving home from work when I saw what I thought was a kitten in the bushes on the side of the road, I got out and walked arcoss te road to find not 1, not 2 but 4 kittens. in the bushes, I got a box from my car boot and took them home.

The night I picked them up.

I thought I would have them for a day or two and then hand them over to a shelter or new homes, that didn't happen. The first vet I called told me to "DUMP THEM" I told him I couldn't do that, he then suggested that I bring them in and he put them down for me, again I couldn't do that ( I gave up on that vet) the next day I called 4 shelters and they all said the same thing because I thought they had cat flu they had to be put down. Maybe it's my stubborn steak but I refused to let these kittens die. I called one last vet (Rob Zammit) they said bring them in and will see if we can do anything.

They gave me some eye ointment and antibotics, the next day I saw huge inprovments. Within days they started running around and acting like little kittens just having fun.

Unfortunatly we did lose one of them, his condtion was just too bad.

One of the males had what they thought was a ulcer and was looking pretty nasty they and had too put him under and clean it all out, two weeks later his sight has returned and looks almost normal, it's still a little cloudy but it improves with every day. I have to mention they did this for FREE!!!

The two black ones have now been rehomed, the black & white one to my Mum (sucker) and the black one to her friend. They are now healthy, happy indoor cats. The third one I am still caring for until his eye is 100% and trying to convince Mike along the way that we should keep him.

They have all put on so much weight since I took these photos, The vet thinks like look like completly different kittens now. I don't think I have ever been so happy to see kittens running around and playing.

That's all for now I have a cold and I am now going back to bed.

We could rub it in,but we're better than that.

Why do I do it?

I tell myself that I am going to good, that I am NOT going to spend any money at all. Then I walk into my LYS and it's all over. And it make it worse they are having a 20% off sale on the 8th of May. I hope I can be strong.

As you can see my wallet came out a lot lighter. I love this vest.

Although I do have to say I am very excited about my Rowan purchase. It's sooo soft and I am just loving the colour.

I didn't need any more but when has that stopped me. I'm talking about my new love Malabrigo
I bought another 3 hanks last week. I bought 2 x Cuarzo and 1 x Pink Frost.

When I bought my first hank of pink frost I had no idea what I was going to knit, since then I have decided on the cropped raglan cardi. (pictured a couple of posts ago)

And with the yummy Cuarzo I am going to knit a vest from Fitted Knits.

Last year some time I finished a Jo Sharp scarf but never blocked it, well here it is finally done. It is about 72cms longer than should have been but I totally love it.

I was feeling a little crap about the lack of Finished projets so I started and finished this scarf this week. It is currently taking a bath so I will post a pic when it's decent.

I am off to my LYS this week so who knows what I come back with.

I can not remember the last time I started a project that I didn't want to put down.

I started the Hour glass sweater on the weekend and I am loving it, I think it's a combo of the easy peasy pattern and the yummy Malabrigo yarn that I am using.

I am loving this yarn soooo much I have started looking for other patterns I can use it on. I have already ordered another 3 balls from Yarn & Kisses.

I got alittle bit more done on my scarf, but i'm not as excited about this anymore now that I have my yummy Malabrigo.

I bought the new Knit 'n Style yesterday so I could knit this....

I think it's cute and at the rate I knit it should be ready for spring.

I also managed a couple of bargains at Kmart, they had these books for $5 each. I' not sure of the regular price but I know it's a lot higher than $5.

Sorry this is turning into a footy blog, but who would have thought we could win 2 in a row.It wasn't our most polished of games but at this stage my attitude is ''a win's a win'' Fev kicked another 7 goals and Judd 3.

We are now 11th on the ladder {can you hear my screams} I had to work again so Mike & Mum called with updates all afternoon. Not a great look me jumping up and down in the shop.

We now face the Adelaide Crows on Saturday afternoon At the G, and thank goodness I don't have to work. YAY!

I ventured into Spotlight today, which is something I don't do very often. Anywho I bought some goodies. A Patons pattern book and 3 balls of Patons Jet.

I'm going to make these. aren't they cute.

And to show you actual knitting has been going on, My Harry Potter scarf, Mike said I am not allowed any Opal sock yarn {Harry Potter Yarn, YAY!!!} until I finish my scarf. I feel like I'm being told that I can not have any dessert until I finish my dinner.

Although he has a very fair point I have too much yarn and not enough finished projects.

And I started on the 2nd colour of my blanket a couple of weeks ago, it has now been put aside for the scarf.

I have been trying to get a photo of an owl for about 5 years now with no luck, I always end up with a black screen, But last night I was able to get closer enough without him flying away. He just sat there and watched me.

I was so excited I finally got my pic.

WE WON!!!

We have ended how 14 match losing steak and it feels so good.

We beat Collingwood by 23 points at the MCG in front of 78,000 spectators, Unfotunatly I wasn't one of them, I had to work, but I did watch the reply on Foxtel last night.

It was a highlight for Fev kicking his 400th goal.

After Richmond's win we are currently in 12th spot on the ladder. It almost feels a little sweeter that we are ahead of West Coast on the ladder {sorry eagle fans}I cannot remember the last time we moved up the ladder and not down. I had almost forgotten the amazing feeling of winning.

Hopefully we can keep it going to beat the Demons next week.

And to other games I went to see the Sydney V West Coast match on Saturday night with my Mum & my Cousin.It was so nice to see Sydney win over West Coast.My Mum & Cousin went nutty :)

Sorry for all the footy talk, I did get some knitting done at the game but I haven't taken any pics yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

I really shouldn't leave it sooo long between post's. I have so much to post about but it just gets all muddled in my head and makes no sense to anyone except me.

I have been sick on and off for the last 2 month's, nothing serious just a virus. But it has left me feeling completely drained.

I have very little in the way of knitting to show but..... I do have some very cute bookmarks that i have made.

I have been trying to sell them but unfortunately most people are just interested in copying them and buying the charms. It's very frustrating

I bought some super cute kniting charms [ball of yarn & half knitted jumper] but I have left my camera cord at work, so it will have to wait until Monday.

I had the scariest moment of my life this morning.

Mike was using the whipper snipper on the nature strip & I was sitting at the the computer (one of the front rooms of the house) when I heard a car lock up a bang and a man yell. I jumped up and ran as fast as I could to the front yard yelling Mike's name, just as I got to the front gate a big puff of smoke passed through the hedge.

When I got to the nature stip Mike was opening the car door to check if the lady was ok. She had swerved to miss a another car turning right and ran into a street sign in front of our house.

Mike saw the car starting to lock up and ran out of the way, I think I was more shaken than Mike.I cried for about an hour afterwards, just thinking of what might of been.

For a few short moments I thought my life with Mike was over.

I thought I would post some pic's of some goodies I bought in the holidays because after today I think it will be a very long time until i can splurge again. I received a letter from the council today with a fine of $1320 attached to it.

I am going to try and fight one of them but I know I can not wriggle my way out of the others. I am so angry I just want to scream.

To totally change the subject, because if I don't I think I will cry. I found a patch work shop 5 minute's away from my house during the holidays, I swear I must drive around with my eye's shut.

They have the cutest little thing's, check out this soap.Don't you just want to bite into it.

It is hand made in Melbourne.Check out that cream mmmmmm.
They also had an amazing range of fabric.

And some Amy Butler soak, you only need a little bit, it smells amazing.

This is one of those post's that your just not sure of how to start or finish.

Back in late July when Seven was killed by Evie (our own dog) you may remember that I wanted to get rid of her that is to say that I thought that we would get rid of her, no questions.

Mike thought that I needed time to get over Seven's death and try and bond with Evie. This has not happened, I have tried so hard to bond with her but it just hasn't happened, not the type of bond I have with Harry (her brother) anyway.

On New Year's Eve day Mike got up and went out side with his morning coffee to find Evie lying in her bed unable to move. We called the vet and took her in straight away, it turned out she had tick paralysis and that was why she was unable to move, after a couple of day's with the vet she was able to come home.

The whole time all I could think of was thank goodness it wasn't Harry. Which is not a great thought right? I should totally love my dog but the fact is I don't. I have no feelings.

On Friday morning We received a call from a neighbour to inform us that council was on our property and that Evie had just attacked 3 sheep 4 property's down, the police we're on there way to put the sheep out of there misery.

She managed to dig quite a large hole under the fence to get out of our property we are still not sure how she got onto the property with the sheep.

The owner of the sheep has been quite nice about the whole ordeal,we went over and helped dispose of the bodies this morning, I have to say it is the worst thing I have ever had to do, and I don't want to go into detail but there we're certain things that I hadn't thought of while moving them.

We have been told by council that she will now be declared a dangerous dog and therefore Mike & I have decide that she will have to be put down.

I always think of the ''what if'' I am scared that one day it may be a small child. I am not prepared to take the chance.

This is just a very short post. I have been sick the last 2 day's with food poisoning. Do you feel my pain :( I still feel like total crap but it is very slowly getting better.

On the plus side I have lost 3 kg's YIPPEE!!! Let's see how long I can keep it off ;)

Where do I start other than saying I have been quite the slack tart.

All over Christmas and not one post :0) bad blogger.

I am now back at work, not that I had much of a break, Unfortunately I had to work 1/2 of it. Anywho a very Happy & Belated New Year to All.

The Cascade 220 is going to be a Moderne Log Cabin Blanket (Mason Dixon Knitting) & the Malabrigo is going to be The Hour Glass Sweater (Last Minute Knitted Gift's)

These are 2 project's that have been on my list for a very long time. I have just started the 1st square for the blanket, My goal is to finish both project's this year.

I just love this colour, It's called Cactus Flower, It is soooo yummy.

I am not going to go into the whole sorry tale of how I actually received my mail, I am just going to show you some pretty pictures.

First we start with my Tapestry Craft parcel.

Yummy Anny Blatt - fine kid in impatiente. I just love this colour, I am going to make this with it.

This singlet is from Jo Sharp's Contemporary Knitting. This has been on my to do list for a very long time. (sorry about the glare)

I also bought some Silkroad Aran Tweed in Ash from Jo Sharp.

I am going to knit yet another Jo Sharp pattern (i can not help myself ,i think i have a illness) this beret is from Knit Issue 3 .

And some needles, not very exciting but a must.

Now I urge everyone to go out and buy a a Scarflette from Shara. This is just so adorable, I totally love it.

And finally down to some knitting.

I started the 6th ball today. I managed to get some knitting down at work today hehe.The pillow now measures 46cm x 64cm. It's very slowly growing.

I don't hold out much hope of getting any knitting done tomorrow, I have to do the christmas food shopping.Which means to get to the shops early no sleep in again :(

Twice a week I have to drive up to Bateau Bay and work in our craft shop, which is all good except that I have to drive past a Krispy Kreme . And for so long now I have been very good but today I fell off the wagon, fell heavily.

I bought 4 donuts and ate all of them all by myself. I know I know I'm disgusted with myself, and I don't need another lecture thankyou very much Jenny.

Now let us never speak of this again.

It looks like Nothing isn't the only cat that likes Noro.

He is sooo adorable.

I thought I should wind the rest of my Noro Blossom for my pillow when Nothing thought he would make himself comfy, he napped for about 1 1/2 hour's on top of my yarn.

And when he did get up I finished my balls.

Black Hole

I spent most of the weekend in the black hole that is Ravelry. It's terrible I got almost no housework done, I still have a big pile of ironing with my name on it.

I did however get a little knitting done. I worked on my first hat and legwarmers (no pic)

I think this hat is just so cute but to be honest I'm not sure if I'm actually going to wear it. I will just have to see how it looks on.

I went to Spotlight today to get some fabric for some new beds. I'm sure you can all guess who they are for.

On Wednesday Mike & I had to go to Bathurst for a couple of hours.Unfortunately we had to be there at 6am, so we had to leave home at 4am. I am looking forward to my sleep-in tomorrow.

We had pretty good weather on the way up, but on the way back we had to drive thru this.(These pic's we're taken at 9.30am)
The further we drove the worse it got.
Until we reached Kurmond then the fog cleared and we we're just left with the rain.

Although I am feeling better now it has been a very long week with very little knitting. I did start a hat, but not enough to take a photo. Maybe tomorrow.

Today I am having 1/2 a sick day. I don't know what's going on with my stomach but ick.

I will be spending the rest of the day on the lounge:( ah daytime tv.

This is my Acton cushion from Simply Noro using Blossom and I love it. I love the feel and the colours it's just so yummy. I have just started the 3rd ball.

This is some yarn I bought back in Sept that I never posted about. Amazing from Ecoyarns. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it. Any ideas?
I also bought myself some organic cotton and a whole lot of beads.

I have started selling my jewellery, and have done surprisingly well. Not that I consider myself that creative, I just stick to basic designs using top quality gem sones, crystals and sterling.

I have no internet access. TPG are driving me insane they have been sooooo unhelpful i have had no choice but to go to another provider. Fingers crossed it should all be fixed up later on this week.

Another reason i haven't been around is this.

About 3 weeks ago i was sitting in the study just reading when Mike blurted out do you want to move to Kurrajong. It totally took me by surprise considering we had just started to renovate the house.

So i said yes and now the house is on the market. I am not going to get excited just yet just in case it doesn't sell.Please keep your fingers crossed for us.

And because of that i am having to keep the house in perfect (inspection) condition. That is the one part of this that am not enjoying.So there has been no crafts of any kind being done but i do have some lovely books to show you.

I had to show a couple of pics from the Knitted Toys book and Lucinda Guy's And so to bed book. These two are from Knitted Toys. I just love the mice they are just so cute.

I received some mail from Ecoyarns yesterday and more books from Amazon but i haven't had time to take pics so you will have to come back later in the week hehe.

This is my 100th Post and only took me 18 months. How sad is that:(

It has been one of those weeks I may have got 15 rows of knitting done if that. I did however do a little baking today. They are the same muffins I made last weekend. They are my favourite Chocolate & Peanut Butter.

I love them straight out of the oven when the chocolate is all gooey.

And my dinner Pinto beans and salsa with mashed potato YUM!!!

I realised today that i never posted pic's of the first part of my Amazon order. So here we are.

I am just loving Knitting in plain english it's filled with nonsense knitting advice. I haven't started A deadly yarn yet i still haven't read Needled to death.

And Simple sewing is just filled with so many great idea (i will post more pic's) i just love the picnic napkins.

And because i have done absolutely no knitting this week I am sharing my dinner with you :)

Yummy bean curry on corn chips (my mid-week lazy dinner) and yes that is steam coming off the beans.

And no meal is complete without goodies from the health food store. I have no plan on eating everything in this pic tonight. I will however make a start on the carob swirls.

Oh Mr. Hart what a mess.

I will start with the knitting first. I joined another KAL. It's the Interweave kal and i have decided to knit the turtleneck shrug with Rowan kid classic in sherbet dip.
I started knitting with the recommended 4.5mm needle, but i wasn't happy with my stitches so i pulled it all out and started again with 4mm needles.
I know it's a little hard to tell at this stage but i think it's going to work out nicely.
Now i would like to report that Nothing is doing very well.His wounds are healing nicely and the drains are working well. He is a little uncomfortable not being able to lay on his sides but the vet said he may take the drains out Monday or Tuesday. Fingers crossed.

Now down to the mess. Mike and I are finally starting our reno. We started by ripping out the built -ins only to find a huge hole in the wall.

Then we started to rip up all the carpet. We have decided to polish the floor boards and for the most part the boards are in good condition until we got to the living room and found this under the carpet.

Not what we we're expecting.Some how we have to find matching floor boards a job i am not looking forward to.

The house is a total mess, the clothes are in the hall the bed is the lounge room. The only room that is clean and tidy is the study. I can tell this is going to be a long and painful process.

The last couple of days have been a roller coaster of emotions. On Monday night i found a small lump on Nothings back so yesterday i took him to our vet's.

The lump as turned out to be a huge abscess running all the way down his back. They put him under today to clean it all out and cut all the dead tissue out.

But he is going to be just fine. YAY!And I get to pick him up tomorrow afternoon.

He is such a handsome boy but he just never takes a great photo.

Now down to the knitting i did finish the scarf hooray!

I will post a better pic once I block it.Sorry for such a short post but less time blogging more time knitting(if only it worked out that way)

Loop-d-Loop

I joined another KAL. YAY!

It is the Loop-d-Loop KAL and I am very excited about this one.I have been wanting to knit something from this book for ages.But i couldn't make up my mind.

I have finally settled on this.

It is the "fade out" ribbed stole. And you will be happy to know i am not using the recommended yarn for once. I am going to use Debbie Bliss cashmerino aran. In purple, lilac and white.It's such yummy yarn.
The purple looks more like a blue in this photo sorry bad lighting.

Update:It looks like i will actually meet the deadline i set myself for my Jo Sharp scarf. Although i don't know if i will have it blocked in time but as long as it's off the needles that's good enough for me.

Before i start my post I would like to say a big Thank you to everyone who sent me such lovely and kind words.

This week has been so emotionally and physically draining and as hard as it is i am trying to put it behind me. I'm also trying to spend as much time as possible with Nothing and Aria. Nothing has already started to act out as he always does when he knows there is something wrong. He has started peeing in the house, anywhere and everywhere.

I am hoping this will not last long.

Ok i want to start with a photo i took this morning.

How gorgeous is that. Sorry about the blur.

I received two parcels this week. I just have to mention the great service i received from Ozeyarn i ordered it Monday and received it Tuesday.

The 1st batch is 7 balls of Jo Sharp Alpaca Kid Lustre in Cork.I just love this yarn, I'm currently knitting the Long Ridged Scarf in the same colour. I can not help myself. I am planning on knitting the Keyhole Vest from the Jo Sharp Knit 1 book.
And before you say it i know it is the same colour as in the book. But this really is my favourite colour in this range.

The 2nd batch is 8 balls of Jo Sharp DK Pure Wool in Heron. I am planning on knitting this.

The Easy Ribbed Vest. It just looks very quick and easy and thats just what i need right now.
And i am not the only one that got a lot out of this envelope. Aria got a whole afternoons play out of it.

And a little tease as to where my other parcel came from. You will just have to wait till next time.

The most horrible thing happened yesterday I'm still having trouble getting my head around it.

Before i went to work both Seven & Nothing wanted to go outside. It was the first time in over two weeks that Seven had been outside, she is very much an indoor cat.

While i was at work she was attacked by one of our own dogs. And with out going into too much detail. There was very little left.

I don't think i have ever felt this sick.

This was the last photo i took of her. It was taken on Monday.She would always sit on the printer and watch me while i would sit at the computer.

She was just so gentle and sweet. She had the sweetest little meow. Mike always said she wouldn't hurt a flea. It just seems so unfair.

Needless to say we are getting rid of the dog.

Deadline!

Remember this? The last time i picked this up was sometime in Feb/March. I am so annoyed at myself for not finishing it before winter. The winter that so far has been the coldest i can remember.

So i have given myself a deadline of next Monday to have it finished.That way i still have a whole of month to wear it.Yeah!

Now the reason why i need to get another chair in the study.
Where ever i am Aria isn't far behind. She spends most of her time following me around the house ,sitting on my lap, trying to get me to pick her up or this....

using my leg for a scratching pole. Keeping in mind she has a very large Funky Tree that is about five feet tall so she really doesn't need to use me.

Spiderpig spiderpig, spiderpig does what ever he wants...

As you can tell by that little ditty Mike and I have seen The Simpsons Movie.

I didn't think i would enjoy it as much as i did.I cannot believe i laughed so much :)

Anywho i know i am not in the Saturday Sky ring but with such a perfect blue sky today how could i not take this photo.

This is the fabric i bought at spotlight, it's just so cute. I am thinking of using the pink fabric for a cat mat and the yellow fabric for the possum pouch linings.

Yes that is a paw. Aria was my little helper.

I am half way through my possum pouch. It is a little wider than i had planned, about 5cms too wide. It is 30cms instead of 25cms. I hope there are some big possums out there.

I am itching to start something new. I am leaning towards the Hourglass Sweater from Knitted Gifts. I have wanted to knit this for ages I just have to decide on the yarn and colour.

In June {Queen's long weekend} Mum and i went to Melbourne to watch some football and do lots of shopping.Unfortunately that weekend was the last time my team won a game :( there is always next year or the year after or the year after that.

One thing i love about Melbourne is the street art. Here are two of my favourites.

In news a little bit more personal, it was Dad's 1st Anniversary two weeks ago {13th July} it wasn't as hard as i thought it would be my B'day {19th July} was much harder to deal with it and unfortunately Mike took the brunt of my emotions and frustrations.

They always say the first year is the hardest and i am hoping they are right because i don't think i can take another one like the last one.

Sorry to leave on a low but i really need to do a load of washing before it gets to late. I am all out of socks. Maybe i should knit some hehe.

I bet you didn't expect this 2 posts in 2 days, the world is just crazy hehe.

No beads today but i do have lots of wool for you 2110 gms to be exact. I bought this online from the knitting shop [i think thats what they are called] they are seconds but there really isn't anything wrong with them and i got all of this for $50-. How cheap is that? I am very pleased with myself :) i bought them for my cat blankets and i have already started with the salmon. I just love 8ply crepe.

Ok this has to be put in the "What The" file. Chocolate garbage bags. I only have one thing to say. Why?

I opened them up and used one Mike said i wasn't allowed to use them any more because the smell was causing him to crave chocolate hehe. Maybe they are in partnership with cadbury.

15 minutes is the amount of time it took to upload these images. I tried uploading 5 pics but blogger wasn't having any of that so i am afraid you will only be getting 2 today.

Ok this first necklace is my most favourite for now. It is made with kiwi jasper, sterling beads & clasp and 6mm swarovski crystals.No body but me likes this necklace everyone thinks it's too spotty.

Ok i have to tell you that this is not a original design, one of our customers came up with it. Just had to get that out there. They are just simple clump necklaces.But they are so pretty on. I just love the rose quartz.

Now on to the knitting i have finished the 1st cat blanket, i'm not happy with the size i followed the pattern but i feel that it is far too small for a full size cat so i have started my 2nd one and i have made this much bigger.

If i was smart i would have picked up on this from the start dah!

Hopefully blogger is playing nice tomorrow and i will get a few more pic's uploaded till then happy knitting!

OK so first [again] sorry to everyone who hasn't had a reply, i promise i will reply to EVERYONE!

Now with that out of the way i give you one necklace.Now i have made a lot more than just this one but i have been too slack to take any pics. I'm not sure what the bead is, i bought it unmarked but it is just so pretty. I have had 2 orders for this item although the orders came from fam & friends so i am not sure if it counts.

Check it out i actually did some knitting, can you believe it! It felt so good to pick up my needles again. This is a cat blanket for the cat protection society 1 more inch and it is done. YAY only took me a week {I'm sooo slow}

Now did you really think you would get out of this post without seeing another pic of Aria [yes she is a little girl] Nothing & Seven have come to love her now and it only took 2 weeks :) Sorry about the quality of the pic i really don't know what happened.

Before i go i just have to mention how proud of my boys [Carlton] for kicking the butts of Essendon he he!!!

Hi Everybody!

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Aria i am 14 weeks old and i have been living with my new family for just over a week. [yes that is tuna on my nose]

My new family have made me feel very welcome especially my new Mum. She spent lots of time playing with me over the long-weekend, but now that she is back at work i think i am really going to miss her.

I have a step brother and a step sister to play with, but so far they have not been very nice to me , i think i can turn them around with my sparkling personality and good looks.

Mum says she will be back online really soon.
