mmm spelt toast

Just a quick post. Not a great deal of knitting has been getting done. I did do alittle shopping, i went to Craft Depot in Pennant Hills and i got some great vinyl to make a bag i and some more fabric for some more pillow case's. I have taken pics but i forgot my camera so you will all have to wait.

On a totally different topic i went to a wonderful bakery/cafe today. It's called Brasserie Bread and it is on Botany Road. They bake all the bread on site and send it out to all the top restaurants in Sydney, they also sell all there bread onsite. What totally amazed me was that they use spelt flour and nobody ever uses spelt flour. I'm in love hehe. So this morning i am having homemade jam on spelt toast YUMMMM!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Pillow Talk

Are you ready for the best pillow cases you have ever seen. No thats good because they are not the best, but i'm very happy with them. I did take a pic of the stitching but pink on pink did not turn out that well. Anywho as you can see they have a nice big inside flap which i think is very important. I hope you like:)

Here are my buys from Borders & Hornsby Wool & Craft Nook.I totally love the holiday handknit book, it has so many great ideas in it. And as you can see a hank of point five i already have three hanks so i thought i can now make a scarf with a matching beanie.

And hopefully i can get some tips from the sewing book. Lets hope:) I haven't done any knitting in the last couple of days and considering the amount of ironing i have to do i don't think i will get any done tonight.

I hope everyone enjoys there week:)

Peace at last

Last thursday after work i thought i would go to hornsby, so i went to Borders (got a couple of books and mags) then went to Hornsby Wool & Craft Nook (got some fat quarters and wool ,pics later)Then i thought i would get some take away BIG MISTAKE. While i got a oporto bondi burger mmmmmm oporto.Mike got a chicken kebab. One hour later he complained of pains in his stomach, he went and laid on our bed and to make a long story short he spent the whole night with his head over the basin.

He had friday off work and he is now just starting to feel normal again. So with two late nights in a row and a insane day at work i spent most of saturday in bed(guess who doesn't have children). So not much craft got done at all ,but last night i made two pillow cases. I am so pleased with myself i know they are not prefect but i think they look fantastic. I will post pics tomorrow.

I hope everyone enjoys there week.

A brighter day

Todays post is a little bit more upbeat. It was Mike's 35th B'day on sunday. It was so cute all week i heard him muttering 35 only 5 years to 40 over and over and over:) Like all men he wanted something a little blokey(not sure if thats a word) so as well as some lovely Hugo Boss i bought him a Maglight.Yes thats right girls a maglight, he loved it, he walked around the back yard pointing it at everything. Aren't boys cute in a odd sort of way.We took him out to dinner sunday night to our local indian, and of course we made pigs of ourselves. It was a nice break.

I didn't take pics of the wonderful magligt ;) but i did take pics of some little treats i bought him. These are happy cakes from our local deli, they are one of my favourites.

Here we have some more treats, funny thing when i bought them lots of my favourites fell in to the trolly, i don't know how that happened:)

And now on to knitting. I started another beanie. I have to buy some 5.5mm DPN to finish it off. I hope i can get to the shops this weekto pick them up.

I haven't done a huge amount of the scarf, but i will get, even if it is at a snails pace.

And finally no post is complete without a pic of one of my babies. India napping as usual.

Thankyou everyone for your lovely comments and emails.

Dad

I have been thinking about how to start this post without it just coming out. But there is no way so here we go.

My Dad has Cancer. He has had it for two years but it is now getting to the stage that he is in constant pain, it has spread to his bones and he is now starting to lose alot of weight. It's so hard to watch a man that was once so strong and active just lay in bed all day and not leave the house. He does have his good days, but for the most part they are bad.

Mentally he seems fine, He use to get very depressed, but strange even he seems fairly clam and relaxed. He isn't at the stage where he needs full time care but mum knows the day is coming.

It's funny when i think about Dad and all the other people suffering in the world today my personal problems seem so tiny and pathetic they are not worth mentioning.

I hope everyone can enjoy the rest of there weekend with someone they love.
